Agile Combat Employment: can’t stop, won’t stop

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England — Airmen from non-maintenance career fields practiced Agile Combat Employment concepts while helping generate sorties last week at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England.

During a limited manning training exercise, Airmen like Capt. Cameron Emerson, 493rd Fighter Squadron F-15C Eagle pilot, assisted crew chiefs in launching and recovering 493rd FS aircraft. This is a duty typically performed by Airmen in the maintenance group.

144th Fighter Wing Flies High During Checkered Flag

TYNDALL AFB, FL —

Florida is a lot of things to a lot of people. To some it is a vacation get away, a retirement location, to other’s it is a political battleground or maybe the home of unusual wild life. This year for the 144th Fighter Wing, it means Checkered Flag.

First time: two brothers learn to fly the F-15C in the same 173rd FW class

KINGSLEY FIELD, Ore. —

Instructor pilots at the 173rd Fighter Wing in Klamath Falls, Oregon, meet any number of students who have interesting stories of how they found their way to F-15C training at the sole schoolhouse for the aircraft in the U.S. Air Force. For the first time in any of their memories, stretching back more than 15 years, there is a new “first”.

Two brothers arrived to learn how to fly the F-15C at the same time, and in the same class.

494th FS weapons officer receives the USAF Weapons School Robbie Risner Award

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England. —
U.S. Air Force Capt. Woodruff Johnson, 494th Fighter Squadron weapons systems officer, received the USAF Weapons School Robbie Risner Award Dec. 10, 2020, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

The USAF Weapons School Robbie Risner Award is a tribute to Risner and all Vietnam era Prisoners of War. The award is presented annually to the outstanding graduate of the USAF Weapons School and commemorates the leadership, courage, and patriotism epitomized by Gen. Risner.
